Thomas Brown’s Pocket Watch

Thomas William Solomon Brown was a 60 year old hotelier with a declining business in the Cape Colony when he boarded the Titanic at Southampton dock. Second class tickets promised he, his wife, and their daughter the dream of a new life, and a new start in Seattle. When tragedy struck the ‘unsinkable’ vessel, and panic set in, Brown put his family on a lifeboat, promising to see them in America. The closest they got was his pocket watch, salvaged from the ocean floor.
