Fun day filled with beer at Craft Beerfest

On Saturday 30 August Round Table Potch 47 held Potchefstroom’s first beerfest at Snowflake and the beer was really flowing from early till late…

Microbrewers like Dog & Fig, Clarens Brewery, De Grave Brewery, Aces Brew Worx and Darling Brew brough their locally brewed beer to the festival.  There were a lot of different tipes of Craft Beer that you could choose from.  We had a lot of rounds that were basically based on trial and error…

“We have presented a lot of beerfests in the past, but we decided that it is time for a change and that is why we thought we want to give Potchefstroom a chance to expand their beer tasting palate,” said Bradley Rhodes, one of the organisers of the Craft Beer Fest.

There were also a few artists performing while the people were enjoying their beer.  Some of the dj’s and artists that performed  included Bosman Puren, Gavin Edwards and Jack Rolling Dandy’s.

“You can’t drink an icecold beer in silence and that is why we thought it would be good to get a few exciting artists to entertain the people,” Rhodes explained.

All the profit of the day was donated to charity to help the Potchefstroom community.

“The fact that all the profit is used to help underprivileged people in the community makes this event great, as well as the excellent beer and music of course,” said Rhodes and added that the members of the Round Table will help to make a difference in these people’s lives.
