Exhibition showcases out of the box brand idea

Staff and students at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) will be able to view some of the best work produced in the brand communication industry when the annual Loeries Travelling Exhibition makes a pit stop at the University this week. The exhibition showcases campaigns that were awarded prestigious Loerie Awards for incorporating out of the box ideas in a variety of media.

 

The exhibition adds value to all students, businesses and professionals within the brand communications fields, with the aim to inspire and educate. It is also a great opportunity for learners to understand the career opportunities available in the brand communication industry, across a wide array of disciplines, including brand identity, architecture and interior design, package and publication design, motion graphic design, direct marketing, PR communication, non-broadcast video, live events, sponsorship, digital communication and integrated campaigns.

 

The Loeries were first held in 1978 to support and grow television advertising. Since then, it has become recognised as the most prestigious awards of its kind in South Africa and has expanded to encompass all areas of brand communication.

 

“The creative economy offers fantastic employment opportunities,” says Loeries CEO, Andrew Human. “Ideas have great value and by providing our talented youth with an education, they can convert a blank computer screen into something of economic value. There is no reason why South Africa cannot harness our young minds and compete globally in this space.”
