Best Things to Do in Cape Town: Kirstenbosch Gardens

If you haven’t already had a picnic in the Kirstenbosch gardens in Cape Town- you are seriously missing out! I know that as Rhodents we prefer to loud music and darkness of the Friars Dance floor, but I’ve heard that some Vitamin D can be very good for you! Get yourself out and about- (don’t forget to bring your student card so that you can get in for R25 instead of R50) and bring a blanket, some snacks some music and soak up the fresh air! While the Grahamstown Bot Gardens is one of the most beautiful places in Grahamstown, the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden really lives up to its reputation as the most beautiful garden in Africa! There really is nothing like the grandeur of the setting of Kirstenbosch, against the eastern slopes of Cape Town’s Table Mountain. The place is beautiful! Since it is coming into summer again, it is also time for the Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts hosted by Old Mutual and held at the auditorium in the Gardens, which have a view of the gardens as well as the glittering lights of Cape Town in the evening- what could be better?
